— Swissnex in San Francisco
My Creative Journey in PR & Marketing at Swissnex San Francisco
During my time at Swissnex San Francisco, I had the unique opportunity to develop and apply my public relations and marketing skills in an international context. As Switzerland's innovation outpost in the Bay Area, Swissnex provided the perfect environment to explore creative approaches to brand storytelling and audience engagement.
Managing Swissnex's social media presence became a fascinating exercise in crafting various narratives for diverse audiences. I developed strategies to showcase Swiss excellence in research, education, and entrepreneurship through compelling digital content that resonated with the Bay Area's tech-savvy community.
Event promotion was another significant aspect of my role. I created promotional campaigns that successfully attracted target audiences—from investors and entrepreneurs to researchers and artists—to Swissnex's diverse programming. This experience taught me to tailor messaging across multiple channels while maintaining brand consistency.
One of my most rewarding projects was helping develop and produce a podcast series that highlighted Swiss innovation. This creative endeavor allowed me to explore audio storytelling while building Swissnex's thought leadership position in key areas of mutual interest between Switzerland and the US, all the while celebrating 20 years of Swissnex in the Bay Area.
Throughout my internship, I embraced various creative challenges—from designing visually appealing marketing materials to crafting engaging newsletters and coordinating photo/video shoots that captured the essence of Swissnex events. These experiences sharpened my ability to translate complex ideas into accessible, engaging content.
My time at Swissnex reinforced my passion for creative marketing and strategic communications in an international context. I gained practical insights into how to effectively promote organizations’ strengths abroad through targeted PR efforts—skills that continue to inform my professional approach today.
